Biography: The first women secretary of state, Madeleine Albright, was born on May 15, 1937 in Prague Czechoslovakia. Her parents were Josef and Anna Korbel, her father was a Czech diplomat. He was a minister of foreign affairs. He worked in Prague where Madeleine Albright was born. Once Madeleine was about seven she and her parents moved to London England due to World War II because the Germans invaded Czechoslovakia. as stated in an article on the Student Resource Center - Gold search engine Madeleine Albright moved to five different countries and learned four different languages by the time she was eleven. Once Madeleine Albright was thirteen she and her parents immigrated to America. She lived in America for the rest of her life. She lived with her parents until college, of course. She went to Wellesley College in Baltimore. Only three days after college graduation she got married in Chicago. After marriage and honey moon and every thing else she got a job as a journalist for the Rolla Daily News in Missouri. A few years later with her husband they had some children and moved to Chicago were she got married. The only down side to moving to Chicago is that she could no longer be a journalist. So not being able to be a journalist she turned her attention to politics. In the mid-1970’s Madeleine Albright moved to Washington D.C. with her family to earn a doctorate degree. Once she earned her doctorate “she devoted her life to foreign policy and her achievements in the ratification of chemical weapons”. She followed in her fathers footsteps becoming an ambassador in world affairs. In the 90’s she was nominated, by Bill Clinton, to be the secretary of state. Bill Clinton said “She watched her world fall apart, and ever since, she has dedicated her life to spreading to the rest of the world the freedom and tolerance her family found here in America”. After about a year she was selected to be the secretary of state. The Public of America was ecstatic to have the first women secretary of state. By the time that Bill Clinton was out of office Madeleine Albright was a specialist in Russian and East European affairs and foreign affairs to top Democratic officials. Today Madeleine Albright is seventy Five years old.

1st Influence: Madeleine Albright is the greatest American is because she was the FIRST women secretary of state. But what makes this amazing is that she was not interested in politics until her 30’s or 40’s. So being able to rise up to that power in such a short amount of time is incredible. an article on the Biography resource center about Madeleine Albright said that before she became a politician she was a journalist for The Rolla Daily News in Missouri. If you know anything about politics is that to become that high in power is almost impossible. But it was probably easy for Madeleine Albright because she is smarter than Albert Einstein; she did not fail her high school science final. Madeleine herself once said “it does not matter race the secretary of the United States is, the most important advantage is that I am representing the United States”. While in power as the secretary of state Madeleine Albright was a big influence in her homeland Czechoslovakia. Well after Bill Clinton’s rain as president Madeleine Albright is still involved in the big bad world of politics. Even today Madeleine has some say in political issues but not a lot of say. Her father was also a specialist in foreign affairs so he helped a ton in her studies to become a politician. So a lot of the thanks should go to Madeleine Albright’s dad Josef Korbel.

2nd Influence: A second reason why Madeleine Albright is the greatest American is because she moved to five different countries in her younger years experienced her with different places and their cultures; this made her more fit to be the ambassador of world affairs. So once she decided to be a politician she already had most of the skills. Also her father Josef Korbel was a minister of world affairs so he may of helped Madeleine in her time of power. Another article on Madeleine Albright in the biography resource center mentioned that Madeleine Albright is definitely one of the smartest women in the United States of America. She arose from nothing to become the secretary of state from just wanting to be in politics she set her mind to that goal and achieved it in full. I admire her for this because I don’t think I could do this. So in conclusion Madeleine Albright EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
